Microsoft Intern: An enriching experience
This summer I got an amazing opportunity to experience the Microsoft culture hands-on being a software engineer intern. The whole experience was a glimpse into what lies ahead in the life of a software engineer.
I really enjoyed working at Microsoft and the best thing that made this adventure enjoyable was the company's culture and values. Being surrounded by some talented folks, always ready to help and have fun was something that made the whole thing enriching.
My team comprised of some amazing folks and I surely got to learn a lot from them. The fun yet respectful atmosphere was something that really moved me.
The firm strongly promotes a “learn it all” attitude, which is the way to go in life because, let's be honest, you can’t know it all. Learning and growing every step of the way and looking up to new challenges is something that keeps me going.
Working like contributing to a cause, having a calming yet stimulating environment, and ending the week with a fun Friday is something I'm sure a lot of us interns enjoyed :D
There were some informative and fun sessions also scheduled for all the interns, which was something everyone looked forward to. Fantastic music concerts, standup comics and fun games, although virtual, still took the experience to a whole new level.
I also got the chance to visit the Microsoft Noida office, an incredible work of art. The atmosphere was so calming and refreshing that working and having fun went hand in hand.
Addressing the elephant in the room :D, yeah, the goodies were amazing. Having packages delivered to your doorstep from Microsoft always brings joy.
With this internship, I got to grow as an individual as well as a software engineer. Pushing your limits and exploring different avenues is always the way to learn and grow — and trust me it is enjoyable too. Microsoft provided me with an amazing platform to utilise and showcase what I already knew and at the same time to explore.
The internship was also a great way to interact with my fellow interns. Talking to people, discussing ideas, and ranting about workstation issues and whatnot is always fun :D
Final thoughts
All in all, the internship was an amazing experience. Being a part of an organisation that creates an atmosphere to nurture your passion and do something that interests you is really great.
Lastly, I’d say the organisation always has a role to play but it is also more of what you try and make of it.
Learn new things, explore different avenues and continue growing :)
